Redskins Secondary - are the DBs better this year?

We lost Champ Bailey in our effort to
acquire a top flight running back and signed former local hs
standout from Springbrook HS - Shawn Springs -, and drafted
super FS Sean Taylor. Fred Smoot and Matt Bowen are still here,
and Ifeanyi Ohalete resigned. With potential superstar
Sean Taylor starting at free safety, Matt Bowen is projected
to move to strong safety, his natural position. This will give Ohalete a chance to
play off the bench along with Rashaud Bauman. Joe Gibbs
does not play a #1, #2, #3 CB .. etc... He likes to matchup the DB's
based on the other wide receivers. At times, there Taylor may lineup
as a CB in certain situations. Smoot, with Bailey gone, has been
working out harded than ever this offseason and is looking to star in the
Redskins Defense. The question is will Shawn Springs be able to fill in
for Bailey? I think he will be able to. His health is the most concerning
issue, yet he seems to be as healthy as he has been in the last few years.
When he is healthy, he has the ability to be a shutdown corner that Champ was.
Maybe not quite as good, but good enough.

Overall, yes, i think this will be a much stronger secondary this year,
especially with the superior coaching staff that we will have this year.
I believe Joe Gibbs has done an excellent job finding the right athletes to
add to our roster and will improve the team in virtually every aspect.

Skins ticket deals and more site information

Hey everyone, I have two things to tell you guys.
One, in a partnership with Great Seats
I have the right to allow Redskins fans a chance to view an extensive
inventory of Redskins Tickets for all pre-season and regular season games.
They sell exclusive tailgate party passes and parking passes in addition to
a large inventory of seats. Their Washington Redskins Site can be found here. The seats
that I would like to have more than any are the "Dream Seats", which are the closest seats to the field that provide UNLIMITED FOOD AND DRINKS for the whole game. Talk
about living it up! To own those seats for our Monday Night Football game against
the Cowboys for the 3rd week of the season would be amazing!

2nd: I will be adding some die-hard skins fans who consider themselves experts on the redskins (at the very least enthusiasts), and they will be helping me cover the skins.

3rd. I have been added to sportsblogs.org as a Redskins blog. This site is very extensive and is worth checking out. They are expecting big things from me as this site is just beginning.

See Ya!

Washington Redskins

Welcome to All About the Skins!
This is a place to talk about the beloved
Washington Redskins, freely discuss buying and selling
tickets for the team, and to disclose information
on training camp, team rallies, tailgating,
etc....

I will be putting up posts frequently with my thought on the redskins.

My first post will discuss our secondary - has it improved from last year
with the loss of Champ Bailey and the addition of Miami S Sean Taylor
and Shawn Springs? ... I believe it has and will tell you why.
